Documentary film to be screened at Carrick cinema

Free surprise family film also

Atlantic, a documentary film, is to be screened at Carrick Cineplex in Carrick-on-Shannon from Friday, July 15th, to Sunday, July 17th, at 7 pm each night, as part of the Carrick Water Music Festival.

Directed by Risteard O’Domhnaill and narrated by Brendan Gleeson, Atlantic is the latest film from the makers of the multi-award winning documentary The Pipe.

This film follows the fortunes of three small fishing families – in Ireland, Norway and Newfoundland – which are at turns united and divided by the Atlantic Ocean.

Atlantic tells three very personal stories of those who face the devastating prospect of having their livelihoods taken from them, and their communities destroyed, both environmentally and economically.

Furthermore, also as part of the Carrick Water Music Festival, a free surprise family film will be screened in Carrick Cineplex at noon on Saturday, July 16th. Rating: PG.
