‘Despite results, the mood is positive’ – Devaney

In spite of the heavy defeat in Croke Park last Saturday night, the Roscommon players are determined to give this game against Cavan one big lash and to sign off the league campaign with a win. Conor Devaney is one player who gave it everything last weekend in Croke Park and he is very upbeat going into Sunday’s game.

He told People Sport: “Last Saturday night was not easy for anyone. Dublin went flat out and we paid the price. But having said that, we are missing far too many chances in front of goal and we are going to have to make those chances count. It’s good we are creating the chances but our finishing is not good enough at the moment.”

“We want to get a good performance before we start training for the championship. The league certainly did not go the way we wanted but we want to win a game before the league ends and this is our last chance. We are training hard and the effort that we are putting in has not been shown in any of our games so far. Hopefully that effort will come to the fore on Sunday with a good performance.

“Despite the results the mood in the camp remains positive and we are looking forward to this final game and we will be putting in a huge effort to win it. It’s a home game at Dr. Hyde Park and we want to sign off this campaign with a win for sure,” he concluded.
