Demesne land sold to Castlerea school

Roscommon VEC has signed over 6.9 acres of land at The Demesne in Castlerea to the local Castlerea Community School, this week’s monthly meeting of the committee was told.   The meeting was told that it had taken years to sort out the paperwork but that all was now in order. The news was welcomed by all the committee members and a plans for the development of the land will now be drawn up.   Local Castlerea Cllr. and VEC member Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan says that he is delighted at the news.   ‘It’s great news for Castlerea and the Community School in particular and as a member of the board I will be raising the matter of the development of this property at the next meeting. It would be entirely suitable for the development of sporting facilities and I hope that there would be a role there for local clubs like Castlerea Celtic and Castlerea St. Kevin’s in that development too – but it has all to be discussed in the future’ he said.
