The Hollywood Bar Superleague concluded last Friday with two familiar faces going head to head in the final of the cup.
Mick Egan, who has been in tremendous form over the past few weeks, came up against an in form Thomas Concannon.
Egan had made the final by beating Kieran McCormack (4-0) and Paul Carton (5-1) but he was to face a tough opponent in Concannon who had battled through two close encounters in the knockout stages.
The McDermott’s darter had squeezed past John Paul Feeney (4-3) in the quarter-finals before dispatching teammate Gary Concannon in the semi-finals (5-2).
Both men completed 15-dart legs in their respective semi-finals; Egan’s involved a 158 finish.
The final itself was a top class affair and Concannon proved himself capable of dealing with whatever Egan had to throw at him.
Concannon finished a cracking final in style, hitting a 167 finish to complete a 15-dart leg and in the process claim a 6-2 win.
Earlier on in the night, Pat Egan won the Shield with a 5-3 win over Joe Elliffe. More in next week’s paper.
