Darren McGlynn Memorial Tractor Run is on Sunday

The second Darren McGlynn Memorial Tractor Run takes place on Sunday, the 25th of September. The event takes place from the McGlynn home in Cloonfour, midway between Tarmonbarry and Rooskey, and is open to both vintage and new tractors.

Tractors will travel in convoy along the following route: Cloonfour to Tarmonbarry, Strokestown via Scramogue, then to Rooskey, returning to Cloonfour where The Monster Prize Draw and a Tug O’War competition involving local teams will take place. Tea and refreshments will also be served.

This is the second running of the Darren McGlynn Memorial Tractor Run. Last year, the event was run in conjunction with the MARK’S WISH TO WALK fund. The event raised over €18,000 to help 3-year-old Mark Dolan travel to the USA for surgery and treatment to help him to walk. While originally planned as a once-off event, last year was such a success that the commitee and local community decided to run it again in 2016, with the proceeds this year going to two charities working in the local area, Co. Longford Scuba Divers/Search and Rescue, and Pieta House West.

Admission to the Tractor Run is €20 per tractor. All tractors taking part will need to be roadworthy and insured. Donations can be made directly to Bank Account 20917721 (Sort Code 90-53-36). See the Facebook page of The Darren McGlynn Memorial Tractor Run.
