Darkness into Light countdown (May 7th)

Preparations are well advanced for ‘Darkness Into Light 2022’ events locally. For many people the last two years have been filled with darkness and isolation, with many of our neighbours, family and friends struggling or feeling alone. Last year, we could not gather together in the way that we normally would but this year we can.
Together our goal is simple. We want to spread light and hope into every town, every village, every home and every heart – not just in Ireland but all over the world.

This year, more than ever, we want you to share the unique and powerful experience of Darkness into Light 2022 proudly supported by Electric Ireland with your loved ones, family and friends. Invite them all to take part in Darkness Into Light on 7th May, wherever they may be. It’s global!
Remember, every euro you help to contribute, through your registration fee or by fundraising, will help ensure that Pieta’s free, life-saving services remain available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The walk in Roscommon Town will commence at the Convent of Mercy Gym at 4.15 am.
The Roscommon group’s AGM was held recently. Mark Molloy was appointed as the new Chairperson and members congratulate Mark and wish him the very best in his new role.

Special thanks to outgoing Chairperson Alec Dempsey for his contribution, commitment and dedication to the Roscommon Darkness Into Light committee over several years.

The Roscommon committee would like to extend an invite for new members to join. If interested, please contact Mark on 087-7801434 or Laura on 086-8448927. Your support or donations are greatly appreciated.

Meanwhile, in Ballaghaderreen, the committee are inviting our readers to sign up today to ensure you get your iconic t-shirt in time for the event. You will also be in with a chance of winning one year’s free electricity for you and a friend from sponsors Electric Ireland.

Strokestown Darkness into Light will also take place on Saturday, May 7th at 4.15 am. The 5km walk will start and finish at the community centre in Strokestown. If you would like to help out please email: dilstrokestown@gmail.com

Join Pieta and Electric Ireland and give the gift of hope to those impacted by suicide and self-harm. You are about to be a part of something truly extraordinary.
