‘Daffodil Day’ thanks issued

With Daffodil Day over for another year the local voluntary organisers of Daffodil Day 2008 wish to thank the public  for their financial contributions, and for their  donation of fresh daffodils, which no doubt adds to the spirit and colour of the day.   We thank the shops, offices and  other outlets which allowed us to place Daffodil Day Boxes in their premises and allowed our volunteers to stand outside their premises on Daffodil Day, and for the very welcome cups of tea and coffee.   This year again we had the assistance of the  Students of the Convent of Mercy, and for that we are very grateful and extend thanks to them,  their Principal and Teachers.   Thanks are extended to Roscommon Golf Club for facilitating this year’s Coffee Morning which was very successful, thanks to all involved.     Thanks to Sean Garvey, for the use of his premises on Castle View off Castle  Street as the depot for the three days, John Earley Property Partners for their co-operation, regarding the key,  Barna Blinds, The Melting Pot and Regans The Square. Thanks also to Raymond and RM Tool Hire for  the generator and heater.   The co-operation and support of the local media, radio and print, has played its part  in the success of Daffodil Day, and  the Parish Office, and for that we say thank you.   Without our dedicated volunteers Daffodil Day would not be possible, so sincere thanks to all for their involvement on the coffee morning, over the three days at the depot and on the streets.  We hope you will join with us again next year.   The final result of the funds raised will be published when available.
