Refurbishment works at the public health centre in Strokestown were welcomed this week by Cllr. Tom Crosby who said that the work will be of major benefit and will help provide extended health care services for people in the Strokestown area. ‘The works will consist of part refurbishment of the existing building and construction of single storey extension for a new Public Health Centre building. Traffic management safety measures will include a new entrance to the access road and the provision of a set-down area, together with 21 car parking spaces. Work is scheduled to commence in the near future. The Health Service Executive dropped their original plans to build a new Health Care Centre on the Circular Road known locally as the Boreen,’ concluded Cllr. Crosby.
