Irish Water staff are currently working to repair a burst water main in north Roscommon this afternoon to restore water to affected areas including Fairymount, Moyne and Loughglynn.
Repairs are expected to be completed later this evening, but it may take a number of hours to refill the system and restore normal supply to all customers.
Irish Water’s Ger Greally apologised to the customers affected: “We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate their patience as we work with Roscommon County Council to repair the burst and return the water supply”.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Irish Water receive direct communications from the company for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
