Both Creggs senior first and second teams are down to play at home against Tuam this weekend in their respective Connacht League divisions.
The first team match is at 8 pm on Saturday evening in Creggs with the second team kicking-off at 2.30 pm on Sunday afternoon, also in Creggs. Please come along to support the lads and Creggs Rugby.
Youth rugby: Creggs U-18.5s will play Connemara in Division 1A of the Connacht League next Sunday in Creggs with a 1 pm kick-off. A tough encounter is guaranteed but a win for the lads would cement a top 4 finish and should guarantee a home league semi-final. Training continues tomorrow night (Friday) at 8.30 pm in Creggs.
U-14s: Creggs will Play Castlebar in Division 1 of the league in Creggs next Saturday.
U-15s: Creggs’ next league game and last before Christmas is this Saturday (10th) against Claremorris in Dunmore at 12 pm.
U-16s: Creggs will play a local derby next Sunday at home to Buccaneers in Division 1 of the U-16 league at 11.30 am. Training tonight (Thursday) at 7 pm.
Mini rugby: Creggs will travel to Ballyhaunis on Saturday for the last Blitz before Christmas with a 10.30 am kick-off.
U-13 League: Galwegians 20 Creggs 19. Creggs travelled to Galway last Saturday and lost out by a last minute score to Galwegians. It was a great performance and they can consider themselves very unlucky not to have come away with the points on this occasion.
Creggs scored tries on the day from Aodhan Looby, Jack Fleming and Tadhg Lyons with a couple of conversions from Cormac Dolan. Their disappointment was soon forgotten as the lads travelled over to watch Connacht v Treviso at the Sportsground that afternoon. The lads have no league game now until the New Year.
U-15 League: Sligo 13 Creggs 10. For the second week in a row, Creggs travelled to Sligo and came away losing by just a single score. Creggs were short a few players last week but the lads who played did very well and they were held up just short on a number of occasions in the second half.
Creggs almost snatched victory when a run from Aaron Lyons took him well into the Sligo 22” with Shane Connaughton in support, but the pass didn’t stick and the ball was knocked on. Creggs’ tries came from Mark Purcell and Jack Tucker in each half.
Creggs’ next league game and last before Christmas is on Saturday (10th) against Claremorris in Dunmore. Training continues tonight (Thursday) at 7 pm.
