Roscommon County Council is proposing to declare roads in three housing estates in Ballaghaderreen and Frenchpark as public roads.
The proposal covers Highfield Park and College Court in Ballaghaderreen and Cloonshanville Park in Frenchpark.
Taking an estate in charge generally transfers responsibility for specified public infrastructure within the development to the local authority, including the maintenance of roads and associated infrastructure covered by the declaration.
Maps showing the roads concerned are available for inspection through Roscommon County Council.
Residents, property owners and other interested parties can make written representations or objections regarding the proposal.
The deadline is 4 pm on Tuesday, October 20.
