Completed Civic HQ ‘a one-stop shop’

Roscommon County Council is pleased to announce the completion of the new Civic Headquarters at Áras an Chontae.

The move from the existing offices, which are spread all over Roscommon town, will take approximately two weeks and commenced on Monday.

All departments will be fully operational at Áran an Chontae with effect from Monday, December 7.

In a press statement, the Council provided the following update.

“Áras an Chontae is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built headquarters, providing modern facilities for citizens and employees.

“The building is located in a prime location between the Sacred Heart Church and the Garda Station, opposite the Teagasc offices and Roscommon Leisure Centre.

“The new Civic Headquarters will be a convenient one-stop shop for council services, amalgamating department that were spread over seven locations under the one roof.

“The new facility also offers vastly improved accessibility features, more car parking, cost savings in relation to rent, energy and maintenance costs, and of course a new presence for Roscommon County Council.”

The chief executive of Roscommon County Council, Eugene Cummins, said:

“These Civic Offices are for the people of County Roscommon, and by having all departments under the one roof will allow Roscommon County Council to provide services in a modern and effective way.”

Roscommon County Council also wishes to advise customers that there will be minor disruptions during the period of the move and ask for your co-operation and patience in this regard.
