Cllr. Laurence Fallon has urged community groups to apply for the Community Enhancement Programme 2019 which provides funding to enhance facilities for disadvantaged areas and groups.
“This is a very valuable scheme from which a lot of community groups benefitted in 2018,” explained Cllr. Fallon.
“I would urge groups in disadvantaged areas or those providing services to the disadvantaged to consider submitting an application”.
There are two strands to the Community Enhancement Programme 2019. Strand A will provide funding of approximately €1,000 per project to 40 projects while Strand B will see approximately €93,000 available to projects with a minimum spend of €10,000.
Projects which may be eligible will be small scale capital projects only such as office equipment, energy efficiency equipment, development of community centres, community amenities, youth club/sporting/recreation facilities, improvements to town parks, etc.
Cllr. Fallon urged any community groups interested in applying to access further information at www.roscommoncoco.ie or to contact the Enterprise Section of Roscommon County Council on 090-6637239 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The closing date for applications is 5 pm on May 30th.
