Kilbride hosts Cross-Country event on Sunday Art & Model Making Competition: The Art & Model Making Competition takes place this Saturday 29th March at the Hyde Centre, Roscommon. The U8 & U10 Art and U10 Model Making competitions will start at 10am and the U12, U14 & U16 Art and U12 & U14 Model Making competitions will start at 2pm. Paper will be given out on the day to all competitors taking part in the art competition but they must supply all their own drawing materials. Competitors in the model-making competitions must supply their own model making equipment. All work done on the day should be within a ‘community games theme’. Cross Country: The Middle Distance Event for the U12 and U14 Cross Country will take place at Kilbride Football Pitch at 7pm on Sunday 30th March. All competitors wishing to take part must ensure that they are at the pitch by 6.45pm for registration. National Finals Weekend: The National Finals weekend at Mosney will be held on 24th and 25th May this year and help is needed at national level to assist with the running of the sports events. Managers are also needed at county level to travel with the children from their areas and to assist them throughout the weekend. Basketball: There has been a change to the basketball draw – Girls U16 is now on the 13th April and the Boys U16 is now on the 12th April. There has been no change to the times or venues. Kilgefin Community Games Our annual fundraising Fun Run took place on St. Patrick’s Day. 33 Children from the parish participated in bright sunshine. Many thanks to Donal Rattigan for providing refreshments for everyone. Thanks also to everyone who sponsored or helped with the event in any way. Our U-14 quiz took place in Ballyleague hall on Good Friday. The following teams were picked from the winners to represent Kilgefin at the County U14 Quiz next Thursday (27th) at 7pm in Athleague. Team 1 – Luke Kelly, Shauna O’Neill, Áine Collier, Gwen Malone. Team 2 – Niamh O’Donnell, Patrick Nolan, Stephanie Breslin, Jenny Silva. Subs are Michelle Quigley, Rodek Narolski and Eimear Collier. Thanks also to all who took part and good luck to the teams next Thursday. A special thanks to Eamon Bolger who both set the questions and was quizmaster for our local quiz.
