‘Come for the racing stay for the craic’

The Roscommon Racecourse will stage its final meeting of the year on Monday next, September 30th, with the first race due off at 2.05 pm. The feature race is the €55,000 Grade 3 Ballymore Properties Irish EBF Novice Steeplechase.

Bearing in mind that 10 inches of rain fell on the track during the month of August, the racecourse is in great shape. Now is the time that some of the winter horses start to reappear after a summer break and some very good horses are expected to line up next week.

Apart from Ballymore Properties, sponsors on Monday include Service Matters, Roscommon On-Course Vets and the EBF. The best-turned out prize is kindly sponsored by Keen Print, Golf Links Road, Roscommon.

Racecourse Manager, Michael Finneran, would like to thank all sponsors, many of whom have had a  very long association with the racecourse. A number of new sponsors have also come on board.

Those involved with the racecourse say they have received terrific feedback regarding the redevelopment of the old weigh room and in due course they will look at upgrading more facilities at Roscommon Racecourse.

It’s been a great season of racing at Roscommon. On Monday, there will be music in the main bar after the second last race with Henry & The Usual Suspects.

There is a competition in the racecard for a free bet. Admission for adults is €15, with OAPs/students admitted for €10.

The Ros Special for €35 consists of admission, a race card, a two-course meal and a €10 betting voucher. For further enquiries email contact@roscommonracecourse.ie or call 087-2203288. Log on to www.roscommonracecourse.ie for updates or follow on Facebook for more information.
