Coman’s swimmers impress in Lisburn

Last weekend, Coman’s swimmers Mickey Moran, Jenni Kilduff, Keela Farnon, Jessica Gannon and Rebecca Carroll headed for the 2015 Irish Short Course Swimming Championships, in the Lagan Leisure Complex in Lisburn, Co. Antrim.

Mikey took part in the 200m Back, 100m Fly, 200m Fly, 50m Back, 200m Free and 100m Back over the three days. Competition was very keen in all of those races, but as ever this national squad swimmer didn’t disappoint, reaching finals in 200m Fly, 50m Back and 100m Back.

Keela swam in the 100m Free, 50m Free, 100m Fly and 400m Free, competition was also very strong in all these events, but Keela achieved fantastic personal best times over the weekend.

Coman’s second national squad swimmer, Jessica Gannon, who is only 11-years-old, took to the water in the marathon 800m Free (32 lengths of the 25m Pool) and 400m Free against competitors who were up to 21 years old.  She had two super swims in these open age competitions remaining competitive in both races.

Rebecca took part in three swim events: 400m Free, 200m Free & 200m Breast. There was huge competition in all of these events, but Rebecca was fearless and came home with fantastic personal best times.

Jenni Kilduff swam in seven events in total: 50m Back, 100m Free, 50m Free, 200m Back, 400m Free, 200m Free and 100m Back.  Jenni had very impressive results in all swims and qualified for yet another Connacht squad in the 400m Free.

Well done to Head Coach Mike Moran, on having seven qualifiers represent Coman’s Swimming Club in one of the biggest national swimming competitions of the year.
