Coman’s pair clinch Connacht doubles title

Kiltimagh Handball Club played host to the Connacht Junior Doubles final last weekend. St. Coman’s Darren Beatty and Oisin Naughton faced off with Seamus Conneely (Moycullen) and Peter Davern (Headford). The Roscommon pair came out on top in two straight games 21-6, 21-7. Darren and Oisin progress to the All-Ireland semis in two weeks’ time against Ulster.

  In the Silver Masters Doubles Connacht Final, Cormac O’Brien and Aengus Cunningham overcame Ballaghaderreen’s Joe Dowling and James Towey following a two and a half hour marathon in Moycullen on Saturday.

  The Roscommon pair eventually prevailed 20-21, 21-17, 21-12.

  In the Ladies Minor Doubles, Fiona Tully teamed up with Jennifer McCormack in Ballaghaderreen last Saturday as they faced Galway pair of Anna Ni Odhran and Eimear Ni Bhiada. The Roscommon girls came out on top 21-11, 21-18.

  Unfortunately, the Coman’s Boys Minor Doubles pairing of Cathal O’Connor and Michael Egan were beaten in their Connacht Final by Cian O’Conghaile and Oisin O’Cualain of Galway. The Rocommon boys went down 8-21, 16-21.
