The home side recovered from being two points down at the break to run out 2-8 to 1-7 winners. The lads have now just two league games remaining – Michael Glaveys at home and St. Croan’s away – with safety not yet secured. Our minors lost out by a point to St. Ciaran’s in Division One, Group B of the league last week.  Congratulations to club players Darren McDermott, Tomás Hanley, Ciarán Finan and Grant Deeney, who are all part of the Roscommon Minor team that saw off the challenge of reigning All-Ireland champions Galway in the Connacht semi-final last Saturday.  Meanwhile best wishes to our club physio Frances Arnold who’s just out of hospital after a procedure. All at the club wish her a speedy recovery. Kilbride  Under 10: Our Under 10 team has played two matches in the Oran Under 10 Tournament and has suffered the narrowest margins of defeat in both. Our first match was against St. Croans and had management and supporters alike from both sides tearing their hair out! However one kick of the ball was the deficit at the final whistle. The second, against a strong St. Dominics saw us chasing the lead from the off, and many’s the chance went astray and once again a kick of the ball was the difference. Our next match will have taken place yesterday (Monday) evening. Results next week. Under 12: Our Under 12 squad played host to Kilglass Gaels last week. Due to circumstances beyond our control, it was necessary to play only 15 minutes a side. A tightly and cleanly-fought contest throughout this short, but thoroughly enjoyable match saw the home side lose by the narrowest of margins.  Under 14: The spectre of injury has visited the Kilbride camp with a vengeance over the last two weeks. Last Thursday saw us travel to St. Ciarans with several squad members missing in action, and as luck (and in this case bad luck) would have it, we lost another team member to injury during the match. Unsettled from the start, this put further strain on our young players and on this occasion St. Ciarans took the spoils. The first round of the Championship starts next Sunday, (see fixture list for details) and all who follow the call of the Green and White are urged to come and cheer us on. We wish speedy recoveries to Brian and Gavin. We’ll do it for ye, boys!  KILMORE  The Kalzen sponsored team were defeated on Sunday by Padraig Pearses by 0-11 to 0-10 in Kilmore.  The senior team begin their senior championship campaign on this Sunday at 2pm in Hyde Park in Roscommon. The club wishes Paul a speedy and successful recovery.  The club congratulates the Roscommon minor team on their excellent win over All-Ireland champions Galway on Saturday last.  The club extends their sympathy to the O’Toole family, Carrick-on-Shannon and the Collins family, Croghan on their recent bereavements.  PADRAIG PEARSES Pearses senior footballers commence their championship campaign with a home match against St Aidan’s next Saturday evening in Woodmount with the throw in at 7 pm. But it was Padraic Delaney who stood out the most. Oran got a tonic start against the wind when J. Carty had a goal in the second minute. Points for Athleague/Tremane from Mossy Connaughton, K. McGeeney, C. Kelly and I. Connaughton (2) with just one point in response from F. Quine left Oran trailing after 20 minutes and at half time Athleague/Tremane led by 0-9 to 2-2 with further points from C. Kelly (2), J. Glennon and K. McGeeney. Oran’s only reply came from R. Farrell after 30 minutes. Disaster struck Oran in the second minute of the second half when C. Brennan was on hand to finish to the net giving Athleague/Tremane a four points lead.  Oran gradually pegged back the lead through E. Kenny, J. Carty and J. Crehan and drew level in the 13th minute with a point from M. Hoban. A goal from E. Kenny after 25 minutes sealed the issue with Athleague/Tremane’s only response being a C. Kelly point. E.
