CROANS   After the hectic nature of last weekend a calm descended on the club this weekend and as a result the only team in action were the U-12’s. They travelled to Loughglynn to play Eire Óg on Sunday evening and despite a spirited first half performance and a fine penalty save from goalkeeper Nathan Cook, Eire Óg’s superiority came through in the second half and they were convincing winners.  The intermediates are due to commence their Championship campaign against Ballinameen next weekend. Please check the fixtures for time and venue. Next weekend the lotto will be promoted by Miko Kenny, Martin Keane and Dominic McDonnell in Ballintubber and John Collins and Tommy Timothy in Ballymoe. ST DOMNICS   It’s down to business this week when we play Eire Og in the Intermediate Championship in Knockcroghery at 2pm. With only two weeks to the Championship, all players please make a special effort to be present. There will be a league game at the weekend. Please check fixtures for date, time and venue. Congratulations to Shane Gilleran and Paul Gilleran on being presented with their Connacht and All-Ireland Runner Up medals from last years All Ireland Junior Championship. Well done to both players. ST MICHAELS   Our U-12’s beat Ballinameen to maintain their unbeaten record in the league. The U-11’s also defeated Ballinameen in the first round of the Keenan. The U-14 championship commences on Thursday (this evening) against Kilmore in Kilmore. The club is grateful to Jim Gaffney and Claire Grimes for their huge efforts in organising the event and making it a success.  Our intermediated drew with Eire Og in the league last weekend. There will be no game next weekend. We need a win in our final league game against Castlerea to avoid relegation. All players will be expected to train this week.  Our minor team was unlucky to lose to Kilmore in the league last week. The game was played for the most part in a downpour & great credit is due the teams, mentors & referee Ollie Kelly for braving the elements. Our thanks also to John McHugh & John Rogers for their work with the team throughout the year.  LADIES STROKESTOWN OUR first junior match takes place on Saturday evening, time and venue to be confirmed.
