Pearses Junior footballer’s retained their interest in this year’s competition with a six point win over Kilbride last Saturday afternoon. Best for Pearses were Padraig Kelly and Vinny Costelloe in defence, Ollie Brooks in midfield and Joe Connell, Eanna Ryan and Emmett Kelly in the forwards. O’Rourke Cup: Pearses 0-9 St Aidans 0-9. Pearses were denied victory by a last minute free in a match played in poor conditions in Ballyforan last Saturday evening. ROSCOMMON GAELS The senior hurlers had a great win over St Domnics in the championship last Sunday. They play Tremane next Sunday in Athleague at 3pm. In the opening game the team were well beaten by a very strong Boyle outfit. Strong individual performances backed up with determination from the entire panel, many of whom were debutants in the green and red yielded a narrow victory against Elphin. On Wednesday last the team defeated St Ronans. This team has also been invited to play in an U-10 tournament in Kilmore on Sunday June 10 th at 2.30 p.m. U-14: Our U-14’s lost to a very strong Eire Og outfit on Thursday last. Next U-14 game is at home v Kilmore on Thursday at 7.30 p.m. Intermediate: Our intermediate team had a comprehensive win over Castlerea in Ardcarne Park on Monday in the league and we will now play in the promotion section when the league resumes. CAMOGIE ATHLEAGUE Training for all U-12 players commences on Thursday evening, 7 th June 2007 at 7pm sharp in Athleague pitch. All players under 12 on 1 st January 2007 are requested to come along. The first game in this year’s championship is on weekend of 7 th July, 2007 away to Padraig Pearses. Any new players interested in joining the Club are requested to bring along a copy of their Birth Certificate and Membership Fee of €25.
