Fixtures for the senior team for the weekend are unclear at time of going to press due to Roscommons involvement in the league semi-final. They will be publicised when available. A ‘Spring Clean’ planned for Orchard Park on Saturday next is now subject to match arrangements. Further information will issue during the week. St. Michaels  The Greenbelt sponsored intermediate team had their third league win in succession when they easily accounted for Strokestown at Ardcarne Park on Saturday evening. The next league game is against St Ronans next weekend – see fixtures for details. Our U-16’s maintained their unbeaten record in their competition by drawing with Ballinameen in Ballinameen on Friday evening. Training continues for U-16’s on Monday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The next game is due this coming weekend – see fixtures. Kilmore  Our junior team lost to Elphin at the weekend. The Senior team are due to play St. Aidan’s at the weekend, see fixtures for details.  Minor-Our under 11 team lost to Fenagh in the Kilglass tournament last Saturday. They have a game on Tuesday 17/4/07 in Annaduff at 7 o’clock against Annnaduff. The National Automation sponsored under 16 team defeated St. Ronan’s in the league, and they play St. Barry’s in Tarmonbarry next Sunday @ 12 noon. Castlerea St. Kevin’s  We extend good wishes for a speedy recovery to our secretary for the past four years Tom Goodwin who is recovering after a recent illness. Tom has been one of the hardest working members in the club over the past number of years and all club members were shocked to learn of his sickness; hopefully it will not be long before Tom is back cheering on St Kevin’s — now that Offaly are out of the equation! We also extend good wishes to Seamus Stenson who is recovering after surgery on the troubled shoulder that has kept him out of football for the past two years. Seamus will not play any football in 2007 but hopefully by early 2008 he will be back to full fittness. All club members were saddened to learn of the untimely death of Hughie Gaynor, Knockroe early last week; Hugh was a prominent underage player with Castlerea St Kevin’s in the late eighties and early nineties and also played minor football for Roscommon in 1990; he was brother of former Castlerea St. Kevin’s and Roscommon footballer Pat Gaynor; we extend sincere sympathy to the Gaynor family on their tragic loss. We also extend sincere sympathy to Michael and Claire Morgan, Cashel Park on the death of Michael’s sister, Moira Gilleran in Roscommon. Our Clasby Beale Associates sponsored intermediate team played Clan na Gael senior team on Saturday evening last in Johnstown, and despite loosing on a 3-13 to 1-14 scoreline the team can be proud of their performance; the game was lost in a three minute spell immediately before halftime when 3 goals and 2 points were conceded; the team was G. St. Josephs The club are holding a table quiz on Friday 20th April at 9.30 pm sharp in Paddy Finn’s pub. Each club member are asked to have a team of four people. Numerous spot prizes on the night. We wish them all the best!  On Saturday evening last we were defeated by St. Aidan’s in the Tansey Cup on a scoreline of 2-8 to 1-8. Both teams started off well, with good scores from each side. The half-time scoreline favoured the home team who led 1-4 to 0-4 at the break. St. Joseph’s started positively in the second half, scoring three points in succession. Although the teams were level entering the final minutes, St. Aidans scored a goal with practically the last kick of the game to secure victory. Sub used: Mark Gilleran.  A minute’s silence was observed for Fr. Brian Horan R.I.P., Parish Priest of Kilteevan, who died suddenly on Thursday last. Fr. Horan was a kind and gentle man, who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Please check fixtures for the date and time. Your support would be appreciated. St. Barry’s Bowling night.-A bowling night which took place last Friday night was a great success. Congrats to Martin Shiel and the gang from Strokestown GAA who scooped the first prize of €400. Also congrats to all other winners. A word of thanks to the organisers for putting together the night’s entertainment. Ladies A.G.M.-The Ladies AGM will take place on Monday, 23rd April in the clubhouse. Time of meeting is 8 pm. Under 12 training.-Training for under 12’s boys and girls takes place every Wednesday at 7pm at the pitch. Please note time and day. U14 Girls football-Training has commenced on Monday evenings at the pitch for girls who wish to play under 14 this year. Time of training is 7 pm. Well done Rossies-Well done to Ros on their win over Offaly last Sunday, a huge relief for John Maughan and the selectors, and now its off to Croke Park for the Division 2 semi-finals. Lotto Results.-The draw took place in The Lodge. Numbers drawn were 24,7,10,,15.                       No jackpot winner. Next week’s draw takes place in Leavy’s and the jackpot will be €3,200. Boyle  The Junior Team put in a good performance against Kiltevan last Saturday last evening but unfortunately the result went against us. Final score Kilteevan 0.14 Boyle 0.8. Tansey Cup result from Easter Saturday. Boyle 2.2 Elphin 1.12.  The 2000 Members Draw was postponed on Easter Sunday. Eire Og  Congratulations to Joe Regan of Ballaghaderreen who won the club lotto on Easter Sunday night. The cheque for €15,400 was presented to Joe at James Timothy Memorial Park on Saturday evening before the Eire Og vs St Ronans match. Well done to the Intermediate team on a good performance when they overcame St. Ronans on Saturday evening last. U 12 training continues on Friday evenings at 7 pm at the pitch and the U 12 team play Ballyhaunis in a challenge match on Monday evening next at 6.30 pm at the pitch be there at 6pm. There was great delight throughout the parish at the news that Gortaganny native Dermot Earley would replace Lt. General Jim Shreenan as Chief of Staff of the Irish Defence Forces. It is a great achievement for Dermot who will replace the Ballymote native in June. We send our congratulations to Dermot  and all his family. Another occasion for celebration in the parish this weekend was the news that Eoghan Flanagan won an All-Ireland boxing title. Well done Eoghan. Camogie Athleague The Annual Easter Monday Walk was again a great success and a big thank you to all the walkers both young and old who turned out. Thanks to all who returned sponsorship cards, these funds to towards the various expenses within the club. Any outstanding cards to be returned immediately.  Well done to the Under 16 girls who beat Padraig Pearses recently in the final round of the U 16 Championship. This result puts them through to the A final against Padraig Pearses on April 29 th .  Senior and Minor players will be notified during the week of training times. Preparations are underway for a challenge game at the weekend. All players to give their commitment to training.  Hurling Oran (Underage) On Friday last Oran continued their unbeaten run in the U-14 hurling championship with a good win over Castlerea in a very tough encounter. Oran were in control all through the game and were not intimidated by the bigger Castlerea lads. The first half was closely-fought with Oran leading narrowly by 2-2 to 1-4 at half time. Two further goals in the second half secured victory for Oran by 4-4 to 2-5. Oran had good performances from L.Cuddy, S. Keane, P. Kenny and D. Keane in defence, C. Kenny and T. Oran will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten run and qualify for the quarter final.   Ladies Football   Four Roads  On Wednesday night last a presentation function was held  for the 2006 u 16 minor and junior football teams.The following presentations were made: U 16 players of the year Ngaire Newland and Aina McDonnell. Minor player of the year: Deirdre Cormican. Junior player of the year Anne Marie Hynes. Training for all those teams will be commencing over the next few weeks. The U 14 team played their first game of the year on April 5th last against St Brigids. Final score St. Brigids 0-8 Four Roads 1-4. Then last week they played Western Gaels in Four Roads. Final score Four Roads 6-6 Western Gaels 3-7. Taining for all U 12s on Tuesday evenings at the club pitch. Fundraising draw now underway. Tickets are 10 euro each. Draw will take place on June 2nd.
