ROSCOMMON GAELS The annual family night will take place in the Hyde Centre on Friday  7th December. All underage medasl will be presented on the night. Full details next week.  The minor AGM will take place on Wednesday 12th December at the Hyde Centre at 8pm sharp. The AGM of the club willl take place on Sunday 16th December at the Hyde Centre at 2pm sharp. Nomination papers will shortly be sent to members. Tickets are now on sale for our annual development draw. The draw will take place at the family night on December 7th. Tickets cost €20 each. Please support. Youth Disco Friday 30th November at the Hyde Centre. 10pm-12.45pm. Admission €8. DJ Conor Gilleran. Strictly no alcohol. Ger Michael Grogan Cup: The game will be played in Ballintubber on Saturday 8th December at 2pm. Bus leaving Royal Hotel at 1.15pm. Sympathy: The club extend sympathy to the Fahy family Athlone  Road and the Kiernan family Lisnamult on their recent sad breavements. ST. MICHAELS There will be a very important meeting in the Complex on Saturday evening next at 6.30 p.m. The meeting will examine many aspects of the club’s structure and its hopes for the future. It will be chaired by Connacht Council PRO, Mick Rock. The meeting would like to hear from anyone who has an opinion on how the club should develop in the coming years. In this regard, club members, players, mentors and parents of underage players are invited to attend.  The U-21 final against Kilglass Gaels takes place in Elphin on Sunday next. Best of luck to the team and management.   ST. DOMINICS At a well attended Meeting of the Overall Executive in Culleen Hall on Sunday last Secretary Larry Shine gave a comprehensive account of the activities of each sub-committee and stated it had been a very successful year for the Club. Chairperson Canon Lavin thanked everyone who had helped out the Club in any way during the year and said he is delighted to see Scor so strong and thanked all the sponsors who have generously pledged their support to the Club for the next three years. Outgoing Treasurer David Kelly circulated a detailed and healthy Balance Sheet. President Donald Feely said he was very proud of the Club and all its achievements throughout the year and wished everyone well for 2008.  The Following Officers were Elected for 2008 – Chairman Canon Lavin, V/Chairman David O’Connor, Secretary  Larry Shine,  Treasurer Geraldine Beattie-Green, PRO Billy Morris, Registrar David O’Connor, Club/School Co-Ordinator Eddie Fallon, Culture Officer Thomas Murray, Insurance Officer Seamus Hunt, Delegates to County Board John Caulfield, John Corcoran. As a tribute to Jamisie Murray St Dominics is presenting a Cup worthy of him to the County Board to be awarded to the winners of the Intermediate Football Championship. Senior hurling Meeting will take place on Friday 1 st December at 9pm in the Meeting room. All Players and Officials to attend. The Appointment of a Manager and selectors is on the agenda. Senior football Meeting will take place on Saturday 30 th November at 7.45pm in the Meeting room. All players to attend.  Camogie: A successful St. Dominics camogie club A.G.M was held on 12th of November. Chairman, Sean Cox, opened the meeting by showing his appreciation to all the trainers and players. He also thanked the parents for their support in what was a very successful year. Christine Doyle, the secretary, presented a very detailed account of all the clubs activities throughout the year. Special thanks were given to the parks committee and to the executive of the main club.  The following officers were elected – Sean Cox chairman, Ann Doyle vice chairperson, Bridget Bannon registrar, Bernie Dowling Treasurer, Nuala Morris and Christina Doyle delegates to the county board, Sean Cox delegate to the fixtures committee Blaithin Cox PRO. Trainers for all ages were also elected. Our Minor Ladies lost out in a thrilling County Final against Castlerea in Hyde Park on Saturday last by just two points. Credit is due to Bernie Kilcline and her team for a great performance and many of the team are underage again next year. PADRAIG PEARSES The club AGM was held last Saturday night in the clubhouse. KILMORE Our Senior team sponsored by Denis Flynn of Hillstreet Quarries play St. Brigids in the O’Rourke Cup Final on Sunday 9 th December in Kilmore, time to be arranged. The Minor Board is organising a tour to Croke Park on 15 th December. Anybody interested in travelling please contact Brian Carroll or Christy Gannon. This trip is open to young & old transport at a reduced rate. A general club meeting will take place in the clubrooms at the pitch on Thursday night at 9pm. ST. RONANS The junior team was beaten by St. Croans in the Northern Division 4 final. Final score St. Croans 0-8, St. Ronans 0-4. Both teams deserve credit for providing a very entertaining game in good conditions. Best wishes to Croans when they play in the county final later. Sunday’s game brought to an end the 2007-playing season. Thanks to all the players for their efforts and especially team manager Gay Sheeran and selectors Paul Kelly and Gerry Emmett.  CLANN NA NGAEL The Clann senior team is taking on St Barry’s at 2pm on Sunday for a place in next years O Rourke cup.  It is important that we have lots of support. The Clann Senior Board AGM is taking place on Friday night at 8pm in the clubhouse. All members are asked to attend. New faces would be very much welcomed.   Roscommon Ladies Minor Championship Final : Clann 1-8 Kilglass Gaels 3-8: Clanns championship campaign ended in disappointed in Hyde Park on Saturday last as they were beaten by late goals by Kilglass Gaels. Congratulations are extended to Kilglass Gaels who have already won the Intermediate and U-16 titles. This was Clann 7 th match in a month and using mostly 12 or 13 players a match it was tough going. In the final every single girl played well. The management would like to sincerely thank all those that helped out with the team. ST. BARRYS St. Barrys will be launching a major fundraising drive in the near future. Some very good prizes to be won. It is important that this initative gets the full support of all in the parish of Whitehall/Scramogue. The launch will be performed by a well known national figure. We remind people that Scor competitions are coming your way. If you wish to participate in the competitions and you are under 17 contact Nuala at 087-7850003. Anyone from the Tarmonbarry/Scramogue area is entitled to enter provided they fit the age criteria. The second St. Barry’s Annual fundraiser will take place in Costello’s Bar & Lounge on Sunday 16 th December. We are asking families to donate something for the auction. We were just beaten by a few points, we were short a few of our regulars which did not help our situation. Good luck to Kilglass. BOYLE The Minor AGM will be held on December Wednesday 12th and the Senior AGM on Sunday December 16th.   The Club extends sympathy to the family of Dr Hugh Gibbons and also to St Ronan’s Football Club on his recent passing.  CASTLEREA ST. KEVIN’S Well done to our ladies minor team who had a great win in their county final, final score Castlerea St Kevins 4-11 St Dominics 5-6.  Commiserations to St Brigids who lost out narrowly to Ballina on Sunday last in the A.I.B. Connacht senior club final. The club AGM is scheduled to take place on Saturday 1 st December at 7pm in the O’Rourke Centre; it is important that anyone involved with the club should attend this meeting and put in place a plan of action for the year ahead. We extend sincere sympathy to the Flynn Family, Tarmon on the death of their mother,    KILGLASS GAELS County champions again: Kilglass Gaels minor girls team made history on Saturday in Hyde Park in winning the Division 1 title in their first year at this level, against a strong Clann team. Final score Kilglass 3-8 Clann na nGael 1-8. Well done to all the girls on this great achievement and also to their parents. On Sunday our U-21 team took to the field in Kilmore for the co semi final against St Barrys. Well done to all the team and management as we now look forward to a county final against St Michaels.   FUERTY Our intermediate team travelled to Ballinameen for the do or die relegation play-off against Ballinameen, and came away with a priceless win on a scoreline Fuerty 1-7, to Ballinameen 0-6, which means we remain in the Intermediate championship next year. Great credit must be given to the entire panel of players for the effort and commitment shown. We now concentrate on the Tansey Cup semi-final, which is to be played this weekend against St. Faithleachs.  ST.  CROANS  It was a busy but fantastic weekend for the club with the Minor team retaining the County Division 3 league title after defeating Ballinameen on Saturday and the Junior team achieving success in the Northern Division 4 Junior League Final.  On Saturday the minors played Ballinameen in Frenchpark in near gale force conditions and were deserving winners at the whistle. Well done to the boys and their management of Gary Cunnane, Paul Kelly and Vincent Kelly.  An early start on Sunday morning brought the St. Croans Junior team to Boyle to face St. Ronans in the Northern Division 4 league final. Final score St. Croans 0-8 St. Ronans 0-4. Well done to the management of Lorcan Glancy and Brendan Keegan and the entire panel.    Lotto: Next weekend the lotto will be promoted by Miko Kenny, Martin Keane and Domnic McDonnell in Ballintubber and Tommy Timothy in Ballymoe.    Finally the club would like to thank Jackies and Garveys for providing food after the games this weekend and Gary Cunnane, Paul Kelly and Vincent Kelly for sponsoring a set of tops for the minor team. The club wishes Gregory Grogan a speedy recovery after the injury he sustained during the final. Also dinner dance tickets are currently on sale at a cost of €50. MINOR ST. FAITHLEACHS The AGM of the Minor Club was held on 19 November. The following were elected to the Minor Club Committee for 2007-08. President Pat Joe Fallon; Chairperson Jimmy Mangan; Vice Chair Denis McLoone; Secretary Emma Brennan; Asst Secretary Michael Cleary; Treasurer Padraig Kenny; Asst Treasurer Hugh Baxter; PRO Hugh Baxter; Registrar Padraig Kenny. The Chairman, Jimmy Mangan, expressed gratitude to everyone who helped with organising the Minor Club’s activities in 2007, and also thanked the Club’s sponsors for their generosity.  The Club intends to arrange a programme of training for team mentors and organisers in 2008 and would welcome anyone who would like to become involved in the Minor Club’s activities for the 2008 season. Further details will be announced. 25 Card Drive: Every Tuesday in the Club House, all welcome. HURLING FOUR ROADS Last Sunday our U-16 hurlers finished off what was one of our best years ever at underage by adding the Connacht title to their list of titles. Meelick/Eyrecourt were our opponents and it was one of the best displays from a Four Roads team in a long time. Great credit must go to this bunch of lads for the work that they have put in throughout the year. The game finished on a scoreline of Four Roads 2-7 Meelick/Eyrecourt 1.5.   ROSCOMMON GAELS  Indoor Hurling is back! On Friday in the Convent Gym. Beginners/U-8s: 4-5pm (Born 2001, 2000, 1999 only), U-10s: 5-6pm (Born 1998, 1997). Girls and Boys, beginners of all ages welcome. Indoor Hurleys supplied, bring own helmet if possible.  CAMOGIE ATHLEAGUE Indoor Camogie continues each Friday night at 7p.m. in the Community Centre, Athleague for all under 12 players.   Three members of the Club have been nominated for positions on the Co. Board when the A.G.M. takes place on Monday, 3 rd December 2007 in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon.  Caoilfhionn Ni Chuinn has been nominated for the Leas Cathaoirleach’s position whilst the outgoing secretary and PRO Marion Conway and Ciara Moran have also been nominated. The Club would like to express its sympathy to the Whyte family from Castlestrange on the occasion of the death of Frank Whyte, R.I.P. and the Finneran family, Ardsallagh, Roscommon on the occasion of the death of Vincent Finneran,  The Club is hosting a fund-raising Race Night on Saturday, 29 th December 2007 in Cattigan’s, Castlecoote. Horses are priced at €20 each and all Senior Club members will be selling horses in the next two weeks. All tickets have to be returned to the Secretary by Monday, 17 th December 2007. The Club will also be seeking sponsorship for the various races so any business wishing to sponsor a race should contact the Secretary. The Club would like to thank everyone from the locality who purchased tickets for the Celebrity Chef event hosted by the Co. Board in the Arts Centre, Roscommon on Wednesday night last.
