There was sadness this week in the Strokestown area following the death of Philomena Noone (nee Murray), of Clooneragh, Strokestown. She was predeceased some years ago by her husband Luke. The couple were well respected members of the local farming community. The removal from McHugh’s Funeral Home, Strokestown to Carnaska Church took place on Saturday evening. Mass on Sunday was celebrated by Fr. Jim Regan and was followed by burial in Strokestown Cemetery. She is survived by her son John and daughter-in-law Martina, grandchildren and cousins, neighbours and friends.
