The Gaels shot 12 wides to Clann’s 4, and goals of the very soft variety from Clann’s David Griffin and Eddie McLoughlin within five minutes in the first half proved crucial. Dara O’Gara replied with a ‘Gaels goal and at half-time Clann led by two points.

But the Gaels were level early in the second half. Following two Clann points, a second goal for Dara O’Gara and a Luke Burgoyne point saw the town side tie it up.
