Áras an Chontae, Roscommon County Council’s civic offices, has won Best Public Building and Best Sustainable Building at the RIAI Architecture Awards.
This year’s RIAI Architecture awards received 180 entries – the highest in five years – across various categories with 52 shortlisted.
The juries selected 18 winners with full details and images of all the winning projects available on www.riai.ie.
Carole Pollard, the president of the RIAI, said: “We were delighted to see such an extraordinary diverse range of projects entered into the 2016 RIAI Architecture Awards – which showcases the best in Irish Architecture.”
Áras an Chontae, designed by ABK Architects, measures around 6,250 (around 67,000 sq ft) and cost €12.86 million plus VAT to build.
