Christmas message from Rossies abroad!

This week, we received a number of Christmas greetings from the Roscommon diaspora ahead of the festive season…

“Wishing all our family and friends a magical Christmas and a Happy New Year. From Bill, Jackie-Ann and Oscar in Jerilderie, Australia”.

“Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas including Nanny and Grandad Martin and Kathleen Kelly in Castleplunkett and all our family and friends.
Lots of love, Shonagh Beirne and Daniel in Dubai, UAE”.

“Happy Christmas to Mom, Dad and the three brothers in Celtic Avenue, Roscommon town. It’s a pity we couldn’t again this year but at least I didn’t have the make the excuse myself for a change! Hope you have a fantastic Christmas and a better New Year.
From Jason Croghan and Hui in Hangzhou, China”.

“This year will be extra special for me as I have managed to make it home for the first time in four years. Obviously, Covid was the obstacle last year, but apart from teaching, I DJ in Abu Dhabi at the weekends so couldn’t make it home the last couple of years as I was busy with that.
“It was also extra special as I will be spending it with girlfriend Amy, who’s from Leeds, and it’s our first visit to Ireland together to meet my family. It’s also her first time home in almost two years.
“There is nothing more special then spending Christmas at home with family and friends. Being away for so long really makes you appreciate the important things in life at home, as well as being able to avail of Mam’s never-ending home cooking of course!
“I will be ringing in the new year in Abu Dhabi however, as we are back to school on January 2nd, but want to take this opportunity to wish all my family and friends, home or away, a very merry Christmas and peaceful new year. From Shane Reynolds, Elphin via Abu Dhabi, UAE”.
