Children’s literary festival next week

 

The Bookworms Children’s Literary Festival is back and this year it is jam-packed with fun events for children who love to read, write, draw and escape into the magical world of books! The festival takes place in a number of locations throughout Roscommon town and county from Wednesday 7th to Saturday 10th of June.

  This is the third year of the festival, which is a Roscommon County Council Arts Office, Arts Centre and Library Services initiative.

  Some of the highlights of this year’s festival include: a free family friendly theatre performance for ages 3-5 at Roscommon Arts Centre on Saturday 10th entitled Return of Spring; The Book Clinic visits Roscommon Library on June 7th; storyteller and illustrator Wayne O’Connor will be bringing his mythology show to Gleeson’s Townhouse on Saturday, June 10th at 10 am; BookSwap Shops will be taking place at Molloy’s Artisan Bakery throughout Friday, 9th and Saturday 10th; Natalia Beylis will be at the Abbey Hotel on Saturday the 10th from 2 pm with ‘Create Your Own Book Workshop’; a Fairytale Focused Workshop with author Deirdre Sullivan in The Quad Centre on Saturday 10th from 12 pm and two school shows taking place in Roscommon Arts Centre: Ridiculous on Wednesday 7th and Katie’s Birthday Party on Thursday 8th.
