The Chamber will also be organising a Children’s Christmas Market in conjunction with Gaelscoil de hÍde, St. Coman’s Wood, Roscommon Convent, CBS and Community College. This will take place in The Square from 2 pm on the 16th of December.
This is an ideal opportunity for various groups in schools to showcase their creative talents and entrepreneurial skills and to raise funds for whatever purpose, charitable or otherwise.
Roscommon Solstice Choir and St. Coman’s Choir will perform alongside school choirs on the day, singing Christmas Carols to bring a festive feel to the town.
The Chamber shall be organising fundraising for the Christmas Lights Committee towards their ongoing costs of repair and maintenance and upgrading works. Also the Chamber will be linking up with Roscommon Harriers for the 5k Turkey Trot, which was a great success last year. The money raised will again be given towards the Roscommon Lights Committee which is doing incredible work in putting up, repairing and maintaining the Christmas lights throughout the festive season.
