Funding totalling €152,500 for playschools in Elphin, Strokestown and Ballintubber was welcomed this week by Deputy Michael Finneran and Deputy John Ellis. Chatterland Playschool in Elphin is to receive a grant of €22,500, Hollyoaks Creche in Strokestown is to receive €30,000, while €100,000 has been allocated for Little Rubies in Ballintubber. A staffing grant of €30,700 for Kilronan Parent and Toddler Group in Boyle was also announced and was welcomed by both men. Deputy Finneran said, ‘I know the valuable work of childcare groups. I believe this announcement will greatly enhance what is available, it is also a tribute to the dedication of the people who work locally in the sector. It is a further commitment of this Fianna Fáil-led Government to childcare in County Roscommon,’ concluded Deputy Finneran.
