Charity Walk for Sacred Heart Hospital a success

A successful  10-kilometre charity walk held in Roscommon town last Sunday afternoon raised €8,000 for the Patient Comfort Fund at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Roscommon. The event was organised by Mary Conry-Candler and colleagues with Roscommon Lions Club. The money raised will finance the purchases of much-needed equipment at the Sacred Heart Hospital. Rehabilitative equipment, electronic beds, and a stand-alone walker will be purchased by the hospital with this €8,000. The President of Roscommon Lions Club, John Hanley, described the 10 kilometre walk as ‘an emphatic success’. He expressed warm gratitude to the many sponsors of the event and thanked everyone involved in what was a very enjoyable and important fundraising event. ‘On behalf of the people involved in organising this event I want to very sincerely thank eveybody who sponsored the people who walked the 10 kilometres on Sunday. The event was very successful and everyone is delighted to have raised this amount of money for the Sacred Heart Hospital,’ said Mr. Hanley.
