Celebraring Rahara’s century of memories

Preparations are well underway in Rahara for their weekend-long celebrations, starting on Friday, 12th of August.

   A book, ‘Rahara – A Century of Memories’, will be launched on Friday (12th) at 8.30 pm at Rahara School. There will be entertainment on the night and refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

  Saturday’s activities kick off at 1 pm at Rahara’s Clover Park soccer pitch. This will be a free family fun day with soccer games, face-painting, bouncing castles, egg and spoon races, horse and cart rides and more.

  A great Saturday night is promised in the village marquee with the very popular band ‘Vinegar Bill’ providing the main entertainment. Food served from 8.30 pm – along with bar facilities. Admission with ticket is €15. Contact Bernie on 086-6014024 or Carol on 086-8545567 for tickets.

  Sunday commences with Cemetery Mass at 2 pm in the graveyard, followed by a historical tour of the old cemetery (by Willie Gacquin). A final farewell at 4 pm in the school with light refreshments will round off what is expected to be a great weekend in Rahara.
