There was no luck for Roscommon in the Nickey Rackard Cup final on Saturday as they went down by 1-27 to 0-19 against Tyrone.
The Red Hand county led by 0-9 to 0-2 by the 18th minute and then got the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute when Sean Og Grogan flicked the ball past Enda Lawless.
Daniel Glynn’s free taking kept Roscommon in touch for long periods but Francis O’Halloran’s men couldn’t deal with the rampant Damien Casey, who turned in a brilliant display for Tyrone, scoring 0-14 from play and frees.
Daniel Glynn also scored 0-14 but the Roscommon attack was poor throughout. Roscommon will remain in the Nicky Rackard Cup for 2023.
