Carty to answer Ireland’s call

Ireland have called up Connacht’s uncapped trio Jack Carty, Caolin Blade and Tom Farrell for the opening Six Nations games against England and Scotland.

Carty, a former Roscommon minor footballer, has been picked ahead of Leinster’s Ross Byrne by head coach Joe Schmidt in a 38-man squad as defending champions Ireland prepare to kick off against England on February 2nd.
