Martha Avorgbedor has been named the Mayo/Roscommon regional winner in Right at Home’s Carer of the Year Awards 2026.
She will join six other regional finalists at the national stage, with the overall winner announced at a ceremony in Galway on October 16th.
The awards recognise carers supporting older people and adults with disabilities to live independently in their own homes. Nominations come from clients, relatives, colleagues and managers.
Natalie Crowe, Managing Director of Right at Home Mayo/Roscommon, praised Martha’s patience, professionalism and individual approach to the people she supports.
“Martha brings a real sense of warmth, patience and reassurance to the people she supports,” she said.
Martha said she was grateful for the recognition and proud to represent the regional team.
“Caring is about helping people feel supported, comfortable and respected in their own homes, and being able to build those relationships is one of the most rewarding parts of the job,” she said.
