On Friday, September 21st hundreds of thousands of people across the country will lose themselves in their imagination and an explosion of creativity as the country comes alive for Culture Night, Ireland’s annual nocturnal cultural extravaganza.
Roscommon will once again be taking part with the programme of activities available at www.culturenight.ie.
Culture is catching and each year Culture Night brings people together to create unique shared experiences and memories…from generations of families consuming and exploring new night-time adventures to groups of friends enjoying cultural genres they might never have before. All for free!
Highlights of events taking place in Roscommon include free tours of the historic King House in Boyle, a performance by the Guess Who’s Back group in Derrane, an Arts Cabaret performance featuring both professional and local artists in Roscommon town and an evening of traditional song & dance in Frenchpark, to mention but a few.
Culture Night will be online and the culturally curious are encouraged to explore the website this year with added features to plan their Culture Night adventures and routes in advance.
New this year will be the Culture Night Podcast, a series of special podcast episodes with contributions from familiar faces and emerging talents in Ireland’s cultural sphere. Produced in association with Headstuff Podcast Network, the podcasts will delve into different facets of culture and the arts, with some leading thinkers, doers and makers exploring the ways in which our cultural heritage enhances our experiences.
Episodes will be available to download across all platforms and from www.culturenight.ie on the morning of Friday, 21st of September, helping to whet the appetite for all the fun-filled activity that lies ahead that night.
