Call for litter-free festival weekend

Roscommon Tidy Towns Association would like to remind everyone that judging for the Tidy Towns Competition is ongoing at present. With the forthcoming festival weekend the Roscommon Tidy Towns Association would ask the public to be conscious of the disposal of litter, particularly because of the large numbers frequenting the town over the weekend.             The Tidy Towns Association would ask the festival goers to pay attention to the following: Dispose of fast food wrapping etc, in the containers provided at those outlets. Dispose of glass bottles in a safe manner, as broken glass can have safety issues. This would also apply to drinking glasses. The containers for the trees on the Main Street are not rubbish bins and the public are asked not to place litter, plastic bottles, etc in the containers.             The Roscommon Tidy Towns Association wishes the organisers of both festivals and the patrons an enjoyable and litter free weekend.
