Busy week’s action as locals compete in UK

A number of Roscommon darts player will be in action in Hull this week as the busiest week in the BDO Darts calender takes place.

At time of going to press, Tuesday’s Grand Slam of Darts Qualifiers have concluded. Gary Concannon was unfortunate to lose out to Wayne Warren of Wales in the first round. McDermott’s team-mate and Irish Number 1 David Concannon took a 5-4 win over Paul Harvey of England in his first game to progress to the last 64 where he took on Keita Ono of Japan.

A 5-3 win here put David into the last 32. An unlucky 5-2 loss to Joe Chaney put David out of the event but hopes will be high for further progress in the coming days.

David will compete in the Lakeside World Championship Qualifiers on Wednesday and the Winmau World Masters Qualifiers on Thursday. Roscommon Youth player Ronan McDonagh will compete in the same events in the Youths section also.

We wish all players continued success and the best of luck in all competitions.
