O’Rourke Cup Kilbride v St. Faithleachs (Friday 21st at 8 pm) This is Kilbride’s first game of the season while Faithleachs have one good win against St. Barrys already under their belt. I’m assuming that both sides will field with their county players and if that is the case this could be a tight game. Faithleach’s look to be just too strong. Prediction: St. Faithleachs Castlerea St. Kevins v St. Brigids (Sunday at 2.30 pm) Definitely the game of the day. Brigids have by far the strongest squad in the county but they will need to field a strong team on Sunday against a talented Castlerea side. If Brigids are anything close to full strength they should be good enough. Prediction: St. Brigids Kilmore v Western Gaels (Sunday at 2.30 pm) Western Gaels are a club on the way up but Kilmore are very hard to beat at home and they might be good enough to get the two points on Sunday. Prediction: Kilmore St. Barrys v Strokestown (Sunday at 2.30 pm) St. Barrys lost their first game to St. Faithleachs and they will be put to the pin of their collective collars to beat Strokestown in this game. Home advantage will be a boost to them but I expect Strokestown to win by a couple of points. Prediction: Strokestown Padraig Pearses v St. Aidans (Sunday at 2.30 pm) A local derby between two teams that will be hoping to well in 2008. I expect that home advantage will swing it for Pearses. Prediction: Padraig Pearses O’Gara Cup St. Brigids v St. Dominics (Friday at 7 pm) Dominics should be too strong for Brigids’ second string. Prediction: St. Dominics Clann na nGael B v Eire Og (Saturday at 4.30 pm) Clann struggled the last day and Eire Og are a strong outfit. The long journey shoud be worthwhile for them. Prediction: Eire Og Creggs v St. Michaels (Saturday at 5 pm) An interesting game here between two sides who on paper look very evenly balanced. Prediction: A draw St. Croans v Tulsk (Saturday at 5 pm) An interesting duel in prospect in this local derby. St. Croans had the edge in the championship game last year and they should maintain that edge here. Prediction: St. Croans St. Ronans v Michael Glaveys (Sunday at 2.30 pm) Glaveys should be too strong here despite home advantage for Ronans. Prediction: St. Michaels Shannon Gaels v Clann na nGael A The Gaels will be hard to beat at home. Clann na nGael have a long journey to make and this game could be very close. Shannon Gaels might just be good enough. Prediction: Shannon Gaels
