Buccaneers Thirds recorded a decent 20-13 Connacht J2 League victory over Sligo Reserves at Dubarry Park, Athlone, on Sunday. In fine conditions, a lively and sporting tussle ensued in which the home side generally forced the pace mainly through the promptings of flanker Mossy Turley and scrumhalf Gerry Walsh. One of rugby’s most recognisable faces and characters, Brent Pope comes to The Bounty on this Thursday evening, March 14th. He is Marketing Manager Ireland for Platinum Developments who are hosting a properties show in the venue from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sun and ski properties for the investor and/or personal user will be on show, and all are welcome to attend. Admission is free. Buccaneers travel to Belfast on Easter Saturday for their final away match of this season’s AIB League. This is a pivotal game against Malone at Cregagh Road as Buccs bid to maintain their position atop Division 2 as they strive for promotion while the Ulster club, third placed in the league, will have other ideas.
