The inaugural ‘Breakout for Hospice’ a major fundraiser by members of An Garda Síochána and the prison service in conjunction with Mayo Roscommon Hospice, will take place this Easter Saturday (20th) in Castlerea.
There will be 120K, 70K and family cycles on the day as part of the day-long event which will also feature a family fun day including bouncy castles, face painting, an Easter Egg Hunt and a BBQ. The Garda Air Support unit will also be landing for a visit and so too will the Garda mounted and dog units.
Later, the event will move on to Castlerea St. Kevin’s GAA Club for a challenge match between An Garda Síochána and The Irish Prison Service. Organisers will also welcome members of the Roscommon senior football panel who will be there to meet and greet the kids and pose for photos and sign autographs.
Following the match, the organisers invite everyone back to Hester’s Golden Eagle for a great night’s entertainment with live music, an auction, raffle and food.
On the night there will be some very special items up for auction including signed Irish and Connacht rugby jerseys courtesy of Connacht and Ireland star Bundee Aki.
