Roscommon Senior Camogie League Final: Four Roads 1-12 St. Dominic’s 0-8
Four Roads are the Roscommon Senior Camogie League champions after this convincing win in Four Roads on Saturday evening last. Siobhan Coyle scored the game’s only goal before half-time and by the break the home side led by 1-8 to 0-5. Despite the valiant efforts of Dominic’s in the second half, Four Roads kept them at bay and they ran out the deserving winners.

Cumann na mBunscol football finals!
The Allianz Cumann na mBunscol primary schools football finals took place recently, with all but one match taking place at St. Faithleach’s GAA.
In the two-teacher 7-a-side girls’ final it was St. Michael’s NS, Woodbrook who retained their title despite a brave second half performance from Cloonfour NS.
In the Large Schools Girls’ final, Creagh NS proved too strong for St. Coman’s Wood following a real ding-dong battle which could have gone either way in the second half.
The girls’ three/four-teacher school final was played in decent conditions and it was eventually won by a Lisacul NS team which had to withstand a stiff Corrigeenroe NS challenge.
In the two-teacher 5-a-side boys’ final it was Greaghnafarna NS who held out for a deserved triumph over a resolute Scrabbagh outfit.
The two-teacher 7-a-side boys’ final brought together two highly-rated teams in Aughrim NS and Kingsland NS. While Kingsland deserve great credit for their endeavour, the impressive Aughrim team proved too strong on the day.
Tisrara NS and Ballintubber NS faced each other in the three/four teacher boys’ final and it was Tisrara who maintained their composure to keep Ballintubber at arm’s length to make it a double of hurling and football crowns.
The last match of the day pitted Gaelscoil de hÍde against Croghan NS in the Top Schools Girls’ final. Gaelscoil showed wonderful poise to land their first Top Schools Girls’ title to add to the Division Two hurling title won by the boys.
The Boys’ Top Schools Final had been played a week earlier and featured two very impressive teams, Cloonfad NS and Croghan NS at Orchard Park, Elphin. After extra-time it was Cloonfad who emerged victorious.
Finally, to the Boy’s Large Schools Final and the meeting of St. Joseph’s BNS and Creagh NS in Ballyleague last Tuesday. Creagh took a commanding 2-6 to 0-4 lead in at half-time before St. Joseph’s came roaring back after the break. Creagh did enough to hold on in the second half and clinched the title on a score of 2-11 to 2-7.
