Brady – ‘fierce battle

After the game inspirational Ballina and former Mayo midfielder David Brady said that he was very happy to have won such a tough and tight final.    ‘It was a fierce battle out there. We knew that Brigids were a class team and we prepared well. We didn’t play well but we kept coming back into it and we stuck at it well.    ‘We didn’t score for a very long time but Brigids are a very, very good side and they came into the game at the end of the first half and again at the start of the second half’ he said.    David Brady suggested that St. Brigids may not have been totally focussed on the Connacht final. ‘I think that Brigids may have been looking a little further ahead than today and that was an advantage to us – but they were still massive opposition.    ‘I’m just thrilled that we won here today. It’s getting harder and harder for me. This is my last Connacht club final and (last) campaign too so it’s great to win it any way we can’ he concluded.
