Boyle’s title after a tight battle

Kelly’s Supervalu U-16 FC Div. 2 Final Boyle               1-8 St. Aidans        2-4 Boyle eventually won the Roscommon U-16 football championship after another very tight game against St. Aidans in Ballyleague last weekend. After two games of football there was only a point separating the teams at the finish.   Boyle led by 1-5 to 0-2 at half-time with Thomas Lavin getting the Boyle goal in the 18th minute.   However Aidans improved after the break and with the breeze at their backs they set about cutting down the Boyle lead. In the 7th minute they scored a goal through Paul Higgins. Boyle had done enough and while Higgins did score another Aidans goal in injury-time, Boyle held out to win by a point. Boyle: C. Beirne; T.
