Boyle Primary Care Centre work to start early next year

Construction of the new Boyle Primary Care Centre will start early next year.

Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan said that he had been informed by the Health Service Executive that the project was “working towards financial close” and that works would get underway in “early 2016.”

He added: “Prime Balfour Beatty was appointed before the summer as the contractor and Boyle is one of 14 new primary care centres in Ireland being built as part of Ireland’s fist health care Public Private Partnership Project.”

A 17,000 sq. ft. facility will be developed on the grounds of Plunkett Nursing Home. It will include GP suites, consulting rooms, physiotherapy and occupational therapy suites, along with a separate dental wing.

Deputy Feighan said that north Roscommon would receive a welcome jobs boost during the construction phase.

He added: “The centre will ensure that the local community has improved access to a greater range of health services within their own community.”
