Congratulations to Boyle, who were crowned O’Rourke Cup champions on Sunday when they defeated Western Gaels in the decider in sunny Ballinameen, 0-16 to 0-13, prompting great celebrations for management, players and supporters.
In a competitive encounter, Boyle kept their noses in front throughout, and were deserved winners.
Meanwhile, the Division Two honours went to Oran, who had a comprehensive win over Fuerty (3-14 to 0-9). The Division Three title was won by Creggs in a walkover against Strokestown (the latter club had already made preparations for the weekend, and indicated they could not field).
There was a touch of consolation for Division One runners-up Western Gaels when their lads took home the Division Four honours, defeating Oran by 4-15 to 1-17 in the weekend’s highest scoring encounter. That game went to extra-time, as did the Division 5 final between Michael Glavey’s and St Brigid’s, which Glavey’s won by 2-13 to 3-8.
