Five water and sewerage schemes in the county received a boost this week with news that they are to receive funding under the Clár scheme, bringing the total number of schemes in the county helped by the Clár scheme to 71. News of the allocations totalling €648,000 was welcomed this week by Deputy Michael Finneran. The five to benefit are Roscommon Central Regional Water Supply, located in the electoral divisions of Fuerty and Cams, (€68,004); Knockcroghery Lecarrow regional water supply scheme in the Scregg ED (€30,000), Cloonfad small public sewerage treatment plant in the ED of Kiltullagh (€150,000), Croghan small public sewerage scheme (€250,000) and Keadue small public sewerage treatment plant (€150,000). Development ‘This should facilitate the development of many more small public water and sewerage schemes under the programme in small towns and villages within Clár areas,’ concluded Deputy Finneran.
