Bookies Corner with Michael Rock

Great weekend of sporting action  It’s a fantastic weekend of sporting action this weekend but we are beginning this week with the up-to-date market for the Roscommon SHC. After Round 4 last Sunday the odds are as follows: Four Roads 2/1; Padraig Pearses 9/4; Athleague 9/4; Roscommon Gaels 7/2; Oran 9/1; Tremane 10/1; St. Dominics 14/1.   Prices for this weekend’s GAA action as follows: Roscommon 4/9 v Sligo 9/4; Draw 7/1. Handicap betting Roscommon -3 points 6/5; Sligo + 3 points 5/6. Tyrone 10/11 v Donegal 6/5; Draw 13/2. Louth 10/11 v Wexford 11/10; Draw 15/2. Dublin 1/2 v Meath 2/1; Draw 13/2. Tipperary 4/6 v Limerick 6/4; Draw 9/1. Cork 11/8 v Waterford 8/11; Draw 8/1.   This weekend sees the second golf major of the season take place with the US Open at Oakmont. The prices to win are: Tiger Woods 11/4; Phil Mickleson 12/1; Vijay Singh 16/1; Jim Furyk 20/1; Adam Scott 22/1; Retief Goosen 25/1; Ernie Els 25/1; Luke Donald 33/1; Padraig Harrington 33/1; Sergio Garcia 33/1; 40/1 bar.   We will pay each-way quarter the odds on the first six to finish in the US Open. Bet of the week: We notched up our fourth bet of the week in a row last weekend with the Monaghan footballers obliging and this week I am going for Phil Mickleson (12/1) eachw-ay in the US Open. Tiger Woods will not like this tight, tough course and it will suit the accurate Mickleson down to the ground.
