A body discovered in the shed at the rear of an unoccupied house in Ballinasloe was this week confirmed as that of Richard Carrig, who was reported missing to Gardaí last week. The body was discovered shortly before noon on Friday last, February 22 nd . The Garda Technical Bureau travelled to the scene where they carried out forensic crime scene investigations. A post mortem was carried out by the State Pathologist Marie Cassidy on Saturday at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe. Following the post mortem it was confirmed that the body was that of Richard Carrig and Gardaí have stated that foul play is not suspected.
