Big day for Tony Hannon on Sunday

Connacht Junior Doubles Final at Williamstown: Niall McGrath and Neil McDermott are Connacht Junior Champion and deservedly so. At Williamstown they defeated Paul Flynn and Tom Sweeney of Mayo by two games to one. All-Ireland Senior Singles Quarter Final at Mullingar: No luck for Marianna Rushe of Comans in her first year in Senior ranks. At Mullingar she was beaten by the battle hardened Emer Fallon of Kildare in the Senior Singles Quarter Final 21 11, 21 9.  Connacht Junior ‘B’ Singles semi final at Claremorris: Shane Heraty of Mayo defeated Oisin Naughton of Comans 21 12, 21 19 at Claremorris in the provincial Junior ‘B’ Singles semi final. Handball Congress in Roscommon: The Handball Congress will be held at the Abbey Hotel on Sunday 30th March starting at 11am. It will be a marvellous day for Tony Hannon (right) and family. He will take up the Presidency of the Irish Handball Association for a three year term at a time of change for the Association. Connacht Minor 40×20 Singles final at Williamstown: Leona Doolin (Comans) the Irish Nationals 17 and Under champion won the Connacht Minor singles final beating Stephanie Coleman of Mayo 21 5, 21 2.  Connacht Girls Juvenile Championship at Lisacul: Aoife McDonagh (Clooncan) is through to the Connacht finals at Under 15 singles and Lauren O’Riordan (Comans) defeated Jennifer Fahy of Mayo two games to nil in U-14 singles. Diamond ‘A’ Doubles: Noel Raftery and Pat Clarke (Roscommon) had no trouble winning the Connacht semi final beating Michael Corbett and Tim Hughes in straight games.
