Ben runs Britian for Join Our Boys

Heartbroken Roscommon mum Paula Naughton and her husband Padraic have issued a heartfelt thanks to Ben Banaghan, Irish Endurance Athlete, for his amazing support in one of the biggest ever fundraising initiatives for the Join Our Boys Trust.

The family also wish to acknowledge the great support received from Mental Health UK and the owners of Ben’s employer ISG, who have pledged to match every pound that Ben raises.

More importantly than ever, with Archie’s recent passing, the funds will help find a cure for DMD and support the ongoing objectives of the Trust.

‘Running Britain’ will take place over three weeks starting in John O’ Groats on 5th September 2022.  Ben, a Tipperary native, ran the length of Ireland in 2021 to support other similar and worthy causes and now he will run two marathons per day, clocking up 1,400km/875 miles over the course of this almighty challenge.

The aim of the “Join Our Boys Trust” is twofold, to fund research into finding a cure for DMD disease and to design and build a purpose-built house that will accommodate the family for as long as they require it.

Since the “Join Our Boys Trust” was established, enough money has been raised to build the house and this game changing additional £500,000 potential from Ben’s run will help find a cure for DMD and support the ongoing objectives of the Trust.
